So, to start, one of my all time favortite authors is Frank Hebert. Sure everyone has read Dune, and it is rightfully so the benchmark for classic Sci-Fi. But Jorj X McKie is as rich and full a person as Paul Atriedes.
In the Dosadi experiment, one of the four dominant species, the Gowachin has perpetrated a heinous crime against life. They imprisoned a people on a poisen planet and bred them to provide bodies for rich people to swap out their old bodies for. But it got out of hand. McKie has to go to Dosadi and sort it out. I love the idea of the Bureau of Sabotage. There are some fo the classic themes here, A poisen planet to train the faithful, cheating death, prediction, god-type figures. And best of all, how all this impacts upon society.
