The Godmakers

In keeping with the Hebert theme, I reread the Godmakers this week. Being a clergyman, it is interesting to follow the themes Hebert raises about divinity, and God.
While this is not doctrine, he explores questions about the duality of God and man, issues faced by Emmanuel, the heart of Christianity. Lewis Orne starts out as an "everyman" and finds himself elevated, discovering the fact that he is actually a god. Talk about winning the lottery!
The Godmakers is a short read, I wish Hebert could have come back to this and developed it into a more complete work. Hebert is at his best taking on big subjects and applying them to the universe. A lot of his themes are being played out around us everyday.
